Paint Andalucia in Grazalema.

Based in the beautiful village of Grazalema, nestled amongst stunning mountain scenery, we offer an exceptional  painting holiday for small groups.

The village of Grazalema is in the province of Cádiz in Andalucia. It lies in the mountain range of the Sierra de Grazalema at 800m.

In 1977 this area was declared a “Reserve of the Biosphere” by UNESCO due to the exceptional variety and wealth of its flora and fauna.

This pretty village draws visitors from all over the world.There are fantastic walks, a huge variety of flowers and diverse bird and animal life. There are so many hidden corners and stunning views to capture.

Large, soaring birds can easily be spotted in the high cliffs including Booted Eagles and Griffon Vultures.

Our guests stay in the charming Hotel Casa De Las Piedras in Grazalema village.

The rooms are large, well appointed and comfortable. Each room opens out onto terraces adorned with colourful flowers, pots and plants.

There is strong wifi throughout the hotel.

There is a large lounge area where our guests can enjoy a glass of wine beside a log fire.

The hotel is owned by a wonderfully, friendly Spanish family who pride themselves on cleanliness, warmth and comfort for our guests.

Set in a charming, cobbled street, the hotel is pèrfectly situated and only 1 minute from the beautiful Plaza.

Frances May BA Hons PGATC is a professional artist and teacher working and teaching from her studio and home based in the beautiful Kent countryside.

Working initially from direct observation, she is inspired by sun drenched interiors, bunches of flowers and magnificent land and seascapes.

Using a variety of mediums from photography, collage, ceramics and paint, she will interpret her vision juxtaposing reality with creative abstraction.

Her work has been exhibited at: The Ikon Birmingham, Battersea Affordable Art fair, London, Nicholas Bowlby art gallery, Kent, South East open studios, Cranbrook Art show Kent. The London Print show, The London Watercolour Society, London, The Wealden Times Fair, Kent.

“For me to sit down for a whole day is very unusual, although I have done it once before with you, and I just get so totally absorbed in what you are encouraging me to do, that time just disappears.” Sue P

There is no single supplement for solo travellers.

.7 breakfast, 6 dinners,5 lunches. ( Drinks are not included with meals.)( No lunch or dinner is included on the free day.)

.Interesting and lovely locations around the village to enjoy painting at. Please note that our holiday offers painting en plein air each day.

.Transfers to and from airport,at specified times. The flight on arrival day must arrive before 12.00 noon.

The flight on departure day must leave after 13.00. These times will enable guests to use our courtesy transport. For earlier or later times a taxi would be arranged and paid for by the guest.

The pretty Plaza in the village offers a great day spending time capturing the churches, flowers, pretty buildings and the magnificent views towards the mountains behind Grazalema.

We provide sun umbrellas, stools and water containers. Frances will write to each guest before the holiday to introduce herself and will send a materials list.
